| Our Visit to St Lucia in the
Caribbean January 2001. This was our first experience of long
haul travel. We stayed at "Le Sport" and had a wonderful experience. Our First Visit to Japan November 2001. We travelled to Japan for the occasion of the wedding of our son John to Kyoko. We met the local historians who have researched the work of my great-grandfather Dr Stuart Eldridge. We visited the cemetery where he and my great-grandmother are interred. Our Visit to Goa (India) March 2002. Our daughter Sarah and her husband Ben were travelling in India after their wedding in February. They joined us in Goa for two nights. Our Second Visit to Japan, March/April 2003, to visit our son, John, and daughter-in-law Kyoko, and to take the opportunity to see more of Tokyo and the surrounding countryside, and in particular Fuji-yama. Our Visit to California, October/November 2003, We stayed with Agnes's cousin Dr Padraig Carney and his wife Dr Moira Carney. They were most generous and attentive hosts and we saw many wonderful attractions in Long Beach, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Our Visit to Lake Garda and Verona (Italy), June 2004 We enjoyed a restful holiday in a first class hotel on the shores of Lake Garda and attended a performance of "Madame Butterfly" at the Roman Arena in Verona. Our Visit to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, January 2005. We enjoyed the Pacific Coast and the welcome we received from the people. But one week was too short given the long flight and the need to change flights at Houston, Texas. |
